- "Review of the mystery hotel We arrived at 9 pm (ish). Katerina from the hotel kept in touch with us, and was there to collect us and deliver us 2km (shortest ever journey from an airport in my life!) to the beautiful hotel she calls home. From arrival until we left 7 days later nothing was too much trouble for her and her wonderful team of staff. Our room (2 bed suite) was spotless with a super comfy bed. It was cleaned by a lovely lady daily with towel changes and to a continuously high standard. We ate in the hotel restaurant both for some lunches and some evenings and all the meals we had were delicious and very well priced. We had breakfast included and this was pre ordered the night before which was for me a memory of my youth staying in an Italian ski hotel but this one in skiathos had a much better chef and staff !! Everything from a perfect omelette to a poached egg to Greek yoghurt and honey and fruit and crepes all were delicious including a Greek salad for breakfast which I regularly indulged in. The eating areas are both inside and on the outdoor patio overlooking a beautifully lit pool area and although the mystery hotel is expanding into the adjacent new building they are creating there were no active building works to disturb us. Everything was quiet and tranquil. We sunbathed by the pool and enjoyed waitress service to our sun loungers (very pleasant), and the stone facades and decorative greenery on the walls around us were a lovely backdrop. The hotel is situated around 8 mins walk from the waters edge in the old or new port. It is important to listen to Katerina’s directions as we took a much longer route on our first day and ended up literally on a mystery tour up a very steep hill to get back to base when there is a flat road merely 10 metres away which would have saved our legs. However that’s all part of the fun I suppose. The bus service from the town all down the island is excellent and we ventured down to stop 16 and found some"
