The hosts Andreas and Edda welcomed us with open arms and treated us like friends rather than guests. Andreas took time to explain activities and locations for us and even checked for open restaurants and possible routes for walking or other possible activities. Andreas and Edda spent an evening with us in the wine cellar explaining and drinking different wines with us and having a good conversation with us about the history of the House which belonged to the german actor Georg Thomalla and his wife before they bought it. The location of this house is perfect and only a few minutes from the city center. We arrived by train and walking there from the train station only takes about 10-15 minutes depending on the route. The house has a beautiful interior with interesting designer furniture and accessories everywhere you look. Our double room was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen and dining area, which can be used by guests is very spacious and has everything you need, including a fridge for guests. The breakfast prepared by Edda had everything you can wish for and was prepared for exactly the time we wanted to get up. The whirlpool which we could use even late at night was clean and a lovely experience. Andreas and Edda provide a very welcoming atmosphere and we wish them the very best for their future."

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the gondolas which we used to go up the mountain and then hike from there. However, there are plenty of other hikes near the hotel that you don’t need to use the gondala for. They are well focused on sustainability too, no small bottles of shampoo or soap. And refill water. The hotel is located close enough to the lift to walk (ski equipment left in locker by lift). The walk is interesting as there are little cafes and shops on route and the views are amazing. There is also a mini bus which runs to and from the lift, which we tended to catch in the morning but we enjoyed the walk back every afternoon. Google Maps suggests the walk takes 33 minutes but it's more like 20 minutes, although some steep uphill bits on the way there."

While we appreciated the quality of the room and food, this price felt extremely high, especially during the off-season. It left us with the impression that we had significantly overpaid, and it really impacted how we felt about the overall value of the stay. We truly believe this hotel has a lot of potential, and we hope management can improve communication with guests and ensure pricing better reflects the season and experience offered. That said, we left feeling quite disappointed — not because the hotel wasn’t nice, but because we felt we had significantly overpaid. It’s not a good feeling to walk away from a holiday questioning the value of what we spent, especially as a family trying to create meaningful memories. Best,"
