- "Beautiful, historic 500 year old family villa conveniently located in San Casciano, amidst the stunning rolling hills, Cypress trees and grapevines of Chianti country. San Casciano is a short drive from Firenze and also accessible from there by local bus. Excellent base for pecorino tasting and wine tasting! The villa is a very short walk to the center of town. Ample sized rooms and suites with very high ceilings. Period furniture and crests of the family adorn the reception area and individual rooms. The warm and generous hospitality of our hosts, Alessandra, Ahmed and Lorenzo remain in our hearts and memories. Super chef Lorenzo (who was on Channel 1, the main TV station) prepares outstanding breakfasts for the villa’s guests. How amazing it is to awake in the mornings to the wafts of Lorenzo’s creations in the oven! The outdoor swimming pool is under construction and is due to be completed in about a month. Usually guests are able to have Lorenzo’s amazing breakfasts on the patio against the stunning backdrop of the Chianti hills. This visit breakfast was served in the indoor historic dining room due to the pool construction. Breakfast on the patio with its scenic overlook will resume very soon! I stayed here last year and returned this year — I yearned for my dose of San Casciano and Villa Il Fedino and Lorenzo’s culinary delights!"
