As we expected a sandy beach as we knew it from previous holidays. However it turned out that this was not that big issue for us as it got overcompensated many times by the hospitality of the peoples working there. It is hard to put it in words, you simply have to experience it. Two minor things are that it would be nice if the kitchen would offer a dinner plan which lasts for 10 days or two weeks, actually the food is repeating each week. However the quality and the kindness of the chef and the entire kitchen team is simply outstanding. The 2nd minor thing is the small bridge leading the way into the ocean. It is almost impossible, especially for older people to climb out of the water at the end of the bridge. But that should not be understood as a complain, it is just a small hint of how to improve further."

- "Staff is very friendly and attentive to every need and strive to make it a memorable experience. We stayed in The bungalow with sea view and it was spectacular. It is expensive but everything is included even the room bar . Good choice of wine and spirits ( including Campari ) and food was excellent . Stefan ( real name Peter ) was excellent in explaining everything about the resort , super friendly and we really enjoyed the card game we played together in the evening . We all had our complimentary 1 hour massage which was excellent. We also recommend the boat trip (included in the stay ) and highlight of the holiday was the walk during low tide , spectacular. We would definitely recommend this hotel 100% ."

- "Our stay the The Island was nothing short of amazing; the food was delicious, the staff is very friendly and forthcoming and the location itself is astonishing. The hotel itself has very few rooms (4-5?) which makes the setting private and quiet. Frank and the team took care of us during our entire stay and made sure all of our needs were met! We really enjoyed the optional room service, which allowed us to schedule breakfast in the morning had have it delivered to our porch which is located right next to the sea. We can only recommend staying there!"

We enjoyed the beach barbecue and the roof top and pool bars were fun to use. The spa had a good range of treatments on offer too. The gardens are beautifully maintained and make for lovely surroundings. We were also able to arrange excursions with ease via the booking company based at the hotel - we enjoyed snorkelling, scuba diving , a visit to a spice farm and Stonetown."
