This 18-century traveler's inn, now a boutique hotel, is in Nîmes, hidden in a secret flowered garden. The hotel has an outdoor pool surrounded by a Mediterranean-style garden with olive, orange and palm trees as well as a marble fountain. Every air-conditioned room at the Jardins Secrets features a bathtub surrounded by a silk curtain, and the authentic bedrooms with original décor have a beautiful view of either the garden, swimming pool, or the cloister. A traditional cloister leads into the luxurious lounges, where guests can have a drink in the Napoleon III bar. During the winter guests can relax by the fireplace. At Source des Secrets Spa guests can indulge in beauty treatments. There is a shop available selling local products. Jardins Secrets is a peaceful and charming hideaway in the heart of the Roman city, with its famous Les Arènes amphitheater and La Maison Carrée monument.

Many hotels try to be hospitable because that is their job, they are ‘paid to smile’, but the Albar staff are happy to be there and show genuine care for each guest- even remembering guests names when greeting them. Special mention to the Hero’s Pierre and Benjamin, who both went above and beyond in their assistance and care. And the exceptional Fabien (so speedy) Tristan and Frederic, Kaoutar, Doriane, Karla, Clara, Maxime, Imrane, Sabah and Claire. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly exceptional stay. We have already re-booked to stay again…it is worth visiting Nimes just to stay at L’Imperator."
