This medieval castle, once important for defending the area, now offers peaceful, relaxing accommodations in a stunning setting. On site you will find a large open-air swimming pool with lovely views, a children’s playground and a barbecue area. Rooms inside 17th-century Castel Pietraio are furnished and decorated in keeping with their history, with exposed wooden beams and terracotta tiles as well as all modern comforts. In a tranquil but easily-accessible area, from Castel Pietraio you can be at San Gimignano in half an hour, as well as numerous other pretty historic towns. If you prefer to stay closer to home, you can go horseriding, walking or cycling directly from the castle and just 1640 feet away is a village with shops and restaurants.
