- "If you are looking at this property, book it! Everything was just perfect, the breakfast is as good as everyone says and well worth having. Everything was clean, the shower was hot and powerful, the property is beautifully kept with a gorgeous garden and vegetable garden too. The bed was really comfortable and all the staff were brilliant, friendly and seemed to really care about their jobs and the guests. There is a free Tuk tuk service which we used every night to pick us up from the town so you don't need to walk back up the hill, which was awesome. Lovran is a lovely little village, nothing super fancy, but has some really lovely restaurants, and less hustle and bustle than Opatija. We loved our stay and will definitely try and come back in the future."

- "Family owned/run hotel; Dunja is very nice and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful, rooms spacious, beds are comfortable. We had an upgraded room on floor 3. Each balcony had a little bistro table & chairs where we could sit, have a drink and relax. It was lovely to also be able to sit in the room with the balcony doors wide open for the fresh air. Heated floor & towel bars controlled by you in the room (as opposed to being centrally turned on/available for certain time periods in the AM & PM, which we experienced elsewhere in our travels). This is convenient for those who are handwashing items on a long trip. The housecleaning staff was simply lovely—very friendly, welcoming and did a good job. So adorable! Breakfast offering was good—including they will make you eggs to order. A very good value offered for what we paid. We would DEFINITELY stay there again if revisiting Lovran (which is quite likely as it is very charming!)"

- "You arrive in paradise: gorgeous Mediterranean villa surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers! The owner and staff are very welcoming. We spent time on the terrace where we also had a wonderful breakfast the next day. Our room was very spacious and clean with balcony overlooking the property and a window with a sea view. From the terrace you walk out on the private beach and can stroll for 10 min into the town center along the water. Everything about Villa Astra is perfect! We are very impressed! Would love to come back!"

Both places offer nice seaside and street walks, restaurants and shops, with Lovren being a bit more authentic. The hotel is renovated with good facilities. The staff is very friendly and nice, ready to crack a joke or just chat. The mansard room was unexpectedly great, with blinds stretching over a large portion of the room and making it beautifully bright and sky open - great design. The view was stunning, covering both the entire Kvarner bay and the interior. The breakfast was excellent, offering one of the best choices of fruits, cheeses, breads, pastries, drinks, etc. with lots of vegetarian options."
