- "We do not even know where to start . The location is tranquil and at the same time central to every interesting part of the island. The bungalows are perfectly equipped , very clean and modern. Located in a fabulous garden. You can just sit, relax and watch wildlife on your doorstep. Now the most important part to us was - a bunch of fantastic people we came across while staying in the Lodge: Reinhold and his staff is absolutely fantastic - helpful in every possible way and easily reachable. - "Home from home, stayed several times over the last 10 years." - "A perfect getaway to relax and enjoy Langkawi. The plus and the minus is that the accomodation is a bit out of town (+/- 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes bike ride). This makes it a very relaxed place, but it takes a bit to get to the restaurants. No problem for us at all! We loved the villa , which comes with a big balcony to enjoy as well. The swimming pool is excellent (lots of sun!) to cool down and enjoy a book. The villa is definitely worth the extra cost. Lots of space and really comfortable. The garden is home to lots of monkeys! It was amazing to see dusky monkeys up close. Dee is an amazing host! Super helpful in sorting out our onward travel arrangements and providing advice. Location wise, it is a bit of a walk to the beach area but we quite enjoyed the exercise. It is easy and cheap to get a taxi if needed. It was great to be staying in a non-touristy area and seeing locals going about their daily life. There are good restaurants and a launderette nearby. We will definitely be visiting again in the future!"

- "the ambience and friendly staff" - "Our stay at Casa Del Mar was perhaps the most ideal, relaxing stay we have ever experienced. My husband actually sat still for several days, poolside, and read a book (!!!), dipped in the pool occasionally, slept in the shade, meditated on the ocean scene spread out before him (jet skis far enough in the distance to be interesting but not noisy, parasails colorfully dotting the warm blue skies against puffy white clouds). Breakfast was declicious with western and suburb local offerings—-and plenty of everything. Bar service was exceptional throughout the day. We dined on site one night and the menu, food, and service on the beach was, again, exceptional. The entire staff was all smiles and eager to please—-we felt so very welcome. And—drum roll: the turndown service each evening was charming! We would go out to dinner (the hotel is steps away from the throng of downtown Cenang with all it’s shopping and dining options) though the facility itself feels miles removed) and when we’d return to our room, the lights were dimmed, soft jazz was playing on the internet radio, the sheets were exquisitely “turned” with clever little tokens of paper messages about the weather forecast for the next day, suggestions of what to do, etc. It was like getting a fortune cookie on your bed (without the calories!). Speaking of calories, as part of the turndown service, they also provided large ceramic mugs with fixings for either tea or hot chocolate. And they always had a jar of peanuts and coconut cookies to nibble on throughout the day. And we strongly encourage folks to reserve a “high tea” at least one afternoon. Their tiered trays of savory and patisserie dainties was just as delightful as everything else. We originally considered staying at the hotel further north—-the one with the rooms out over the water. But we opted to be within walking distance of town/activity and we are so very, very glad with out choice. Casa Del Mar is an exceptional hotel and great value!"
