The main reasons for this are: The stunning design and furnishings, elegantly executed and no expense spared to achieve their colonial vision. From the entrance, to the restaurants, reading room, smoking room and bedrooms they have fantastic attention to detail and you really feel you are in a history manor, rather than a Marriott hotel. The staff are unbelievably friendly and attentive and there are so many of them! You are never without someone around to assist and they have impeccable manners, perfect English and always wanting to help. Especially our waiter at breakfast, Raihan, he was delightful and a true asset to their business. I asked if they had guava juice and hashbrowns and he said they did not today, but he had already asked chef to make them for us especially. What service! The buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner is out of this world. Honestly like being in an Aladdin's cave of every food you can imagine. The quality, quantity and variety surpasses any restaurant I have seen, let alone a hotel. I do not know how they do it 3 times a day, 7 days a week.
