- "This was my second time to Val di Funes in as many summers. Previously, I stayed lower down the valley in San Pietro. I preferred staying Hotel Tyrol in Santa Magdalena. The staff was friendly. Our room was well appointed, comfortable and quiet. From our hotel room deck we could see the signature of view of the area the with the valley and Odle Dolomite mountains. The popular photo location of Santa Maddalena Church is a short 15 minute walk away, which you cannot drive any closer to. The church of Church of St. John is a short drive a away. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate for sunset and we had rain. We did see the mountains in the morning. I would plan on having a couple days to see the area if you time allows."
