- "Sorrisniva is a truly magical place! The location and the views from the lodge are breathtaking, the rooms spacious and well designed. You can watch the Aurora while lyung in bed (if there is solar activity). The staff and the owners are super friendly and helpful, there is a genuine happy atmosphere everywhere. It is a great place to both relax and have fun outdoors. Oh, and the food with mostly local Produce was amazing!! We will definitely be back as this was ine of the highlights of our trip to Nord Norge."

The domes are super cosy with a big queen bed which faces to a window, with a window overhead as well to watch the sky. They have a heat pump keeping the dome at a cosy 22 degrees, but to combat the -12 degrees, there is a log burner as well with plenty of wood outside in the wood pile to keep you toasty! We had a family of four so we had two domes, but we would hang out in each other's domes, there was plenty of room with the bed and the chairs. The toilet is nice and warm, there isn't running water but there is water to wash and brush teeth. The shower is located next to the dining area so you do have to walk to the shower, but they are nice and warm and powerful, just what you want to warm up. The breakfast was awesome, lots of choice with meats, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, fruit, cheese, salmon, coffee and juice. We also ate one night here as well, and that meal was fantastic and yum! We were able to get a taxi easily enough to go into Alta for shopping and meals. We were able to have a walk up a small hill to see a fantastic view of Alta and the surrounds. The domes were clean and well kept. Overall this was an amazing place to stay, very comfy and warm."

Only 12 miles from Alta’s town center, along the Alta River, is where this special igloo hotel is located. The impressive 21,528 ft² structure is made entirely from snow and ice every year and offers guests a unique experience. Reindeer leather sleeping pads and ultra-warm sleeping bags are provided in each Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel guest room. With a constant temperature between 20 - 25°F (-4 and -7 °C), guests are encouraged to bring their own thermal under garments. A modern service building is located next door and features showers, changing rooms and a luggage storage room. Sorrisniva also has a sauna and 2 reserved, outdoor hot tubs for warming up and relaxation. Local specialties and produce are available at the 2 on-site restaurants. Guests can enjoy drinks at the ice bar, served in glasses made of ice. Artistic ice sculptures are on display throughout the hotel. The staff is happy to assist with booking a snowmobile safari to explore the surroundings.

- "Very nice staff and very accommodating" - "We had an extraordinary stay in the Ice-Hotel, including a very warm and friendly welcome at the reception. The presented ice-art in the hotel looked so nice that we took plenty of pictures. This year the motto was Greek mythology. For couples, which would like to merry, an ice church was available. I can only recommend having at least a visit to this ice-hotel if you’re not a guest. The stay overnight in the sleeping bags was warmer than expected. The outside temperature was -15 degrees, inside -4 to -6. With a hat we had no issues to sleep on these reindeer furs. However, we had afterwards reindeer hair on parts of our clothes. By-the-way, all equipment is provided by the hotel. Before the night we had really good food at the restaurant and a northern light tour. Sleeping at 00:30am we waked up at 07:30. After the night a free sauna visit is possible to warm you up, if necessary. The breakfast was again excellent. In total this stay was one of our highlight visiting Norway in the winter, which we can highly recommend."

Holmen Husky is a small, family-run business who has been working with dogs since the 80s. Some of us have even grown up in the dogyard and on the sled. It is much more than an activity or an experience that has got us all addicted. it’s a feeling that must be experienced. Now we wish to let our guests get a taste of what we fell in love with. We had the chance to do 5 hours of dogsleding along the Alta river, an incredible experience in the middle of beautiful nature and in the company of the adorable dogs who are definitely the heart of this place. The Holmen staff is very welcoming and our guide, Tess, was amazing. A little bit of paradise!" - "Lovely small room. We stayed here 2 nights and this was the perfect amount to experience the area and lodge properly. Fantastic staff and lovely evening meals. Obviously, the highlight is the 50+ dogs on the property!"
