My idea of the perfect small hotel of charm. Brilliant food, a lovely setting, and a warm welcome by owner Henry." - "This was one of the best, if not the best hotel experience of the last 5-10 years. - "Location. History.. friendliness of the staff.. the room was gorgeous, overlooking Lough Inagh. Food was great, and not extortionate. Ticked all our boxes" - "The welcome we received to the hotel went above and beyond our expectations, Dominic welcomed us with open arms and couldn't do enough for us. The bar and waiters we so friendly and professional all the time and strived to provide the best possible experience. The food at dinner was absolutely delicious (highly recommend the venison) and suited the hotel's style wonderfully. Breakfast was gorgeous too. I loved sitting in the bar by the stove and the charming sitting rooms were an excellent hideaway to enjoy a pint of Guinness and read a book."

- "Both excellent" - "Ballynahinch is the real deal! We, as visitors, really wanted to treat ourselves to a stay at a "Castle Hotel", and we truly had a wonderful stay. Just fantastic. I would go again in a heartbeat. In contrast, we stayed at an unrelated castle hotel very near Donegal Town, at about the same price point, and it was disappointing. That other place was basically just a large quite generic hotel with a fancy old-looking stone facade and fountain out front. Pretty fake. No comparison. Ballynahinch is the gold standard! In fact, it was the best single element of our 15-day Irish holiday."
