We are actually staying in a house about 10 mins drive away, but the roads were closed off for the celebrations and we wanted a bolt hole to cool down and relax for a while in between all the fun stuff. We were not disappointed. The Dragon Dance was on the street in front of the hotel. We were less than a 5 min walk to China Town and not many more minutes to Tha Phae Gate and lots of other cool places to visit, eat, shop and drink within walking distance. The room was part of the wine bar, not the main hotel which is next door, but you have the freedom to come and go via a key card and our room was situated on a side passage, which meant we had no traffic, firework or people noise. If you book a room in the main hotel with a balcony you are going to be looking out onto a busy and noisy main street. As others have said you have a small fridge and all the stuff in the fridge and snacks outside of it are free of charge. Yes, really all of it is free. Spotless room, great wifi, robes, slippers, toiletries, who could ask for more. There is a 7-Eleven about 2 mins walk. Turn left on leaving the hotel. We slept so well, they have really comfy large beds and the sounds of the wildlife at night made it so peaceful. Breakfast was amazing and is freshly cooked in front of you (mango sticky rice was my favourite!) It was like a little oasis in the city, so calm and peaceful.
